A Family Event

These are the last photos from Mexico I am going to post today. Aaron and I went with my mom, my sister, (my almost sister) Angie, and family friend Dave. It was quite the rag-tag team, but we all made it out alive, if not for a little sunburn.

Yes, all 6 of us crammed into a taxi meant for 4. 

I think it is appropriate that the only group photo of us that is half-way decent is the one where we all made funny faces. 

We also went on a zip lining, burro-riding, bumpy driving, whale watching adventure tour. Nobody told you the water was going to be that cold.

Beautiful day

Today was just wonderful. Although it was rainy, the light was perfect. Not too harsh, not flat or dull. I enjoy my photographs from this morning.

Last night, I downloaded Iris, a software for the iSight. A resulting video:

Beginning of the end

This past week was spring break. Considering it was the last year with my roommates, we decided to do something together, which was a welcome change from the overly dramatic breaks I have had in the past.


We traveled out to St. Mary's, Pennsylvania to visit Vanessa. We ventured out to the far reaches of Pennsylvanian forest and found this [completely safe bridge].


As true spinsters, we also went out to bingo night at Bingo Palace . A lovely lady named Lovie was kind enough to lend us her stampers. She could not help but laugh at how naively excited we were when we anything that remotely resembled a bingo. Needless to say, by the end of the night, we were all out 16 dollars.

When all is said and done, sure I could have spent my break photographing or working, but instead, I chose to spend it with some of the best people I have known in my life. I do not mind working twice as hard to make up for it.

Counting pennies to buy stamps

I am looking back on all the unfinished goals I had for this winter. There are many letters that have gone unwritten, many scarves that were not finished, photos not printed.

I should really get on those.

B-Tyne T-Giving

Yesterday was the third and final Ballantyne Thanksgiving. I have been looking forward to it since the beginning of the school year. It definitely lived up to my expectations despite my sweet potatoes not getting enough oven time (turkey juices, smoke, fire, ect...). On the whole, it was wildly successful with tons of food, music, hookah, and friends.

Two turkeys and no leftovers...

I had the pleasure of peeling, boiling, and mashing (with the help of Al) 10 pounds of potatoes. They were gone within 30 minutes. If photography does not work out, I can always make mashed potatoes.

It was a fine weekend for apple picking

There isn't a finer way of spending a weekend than apple picking. Andy and Paul came out for the weekend and we visited Whitter and Hurds Orchards in Upstate New York. Success came in a bag full of apples and gallons and gallons of apple cider. 

There was just as much apple picking and eating as there was movie making. Andy just got an 8mm camera and was filming like crazy. I must have eaten 12 apples that day.

Lisa is very shy, but I really like this picture of her.

20,000 Leagues Above the Genesee

A 45 minute drive to Letchworth to find a bridge that Lisa wouldn't cross, a pond we could swim in, and the trees turning a golden fall color. The only thing we found was the bridge, and Lisa didn't cross it.

Isn't nature beautiful?

And Lindsay fell asleep on the way home.
