I wish my college had a rain garden

The McHenry Community College grounds maintenance installs a rain garden on a sloping lawn along Ring Road. The garden will feature native shrubs and grasses; however, the plants are not expected to mature for two to three years. The success of this garden will determine whether or not MCC will install more rain gardens to help conserve water and beautify campus.
Dan Wrobleski plants a ninebark shrub in the top tier of the future rain garden on Ring Road at McHenry Community College. The garden will feature mostly native grass and shrubs, and the sloping effect of the location will help to conserve water. The plants are not expected to mature for two to three years; however, this rain garden serves as a test run for future gardens to be planted on campus.
